On the use of pride, hope and fear in China’s international artificial intelligence narratives on CGTN

Abstract China communicates strategic narratives about artificial intelligence (AI) in digital media productions to create a shared meaning its actions and image the global race develop AI. Building upon literature emotions narratives, this study seeks clarify which are discursively used China’s international AI their function significance. Specifically, investigates emotion discourses AI-focused videos disseminated on broadcasting (CGTN YouTube channel). The analysis reveals that pride, hope fear have multiple functions CGTN.
